Is it possible that May is over - uh, yeah, by like 8 days!! So sorry for not getting my regular monthly post up. I was swamped this month with a couple of big ministry projects here in San Antonio. One of them is the 10 days of prayer leading up the Global Day of Prayer. I was part of a team that set up the entire sanctuary for the 10 days of prayer.
We've now had Libby for 9 months! She is closing in on being 19 months old and she is learning new words daily! I thought that she might know about 30 words, but when I sat down and wrote them all out it was more like 100 words!!! We've got a talker! She's even putting 2-3 words together. Now, not everyone can understand what she's saying, but I can - so it counts! Speaking of counting - she can't do it yet and she can't spell yet either, but she trys to and it's so cute!
Libby has a mouth full of teeth. She has spent the last what seems like eternity (but is really only a few months) teething. She has two molars on the bottom. Along with 3 bottom front teeth. She has her two front teeth, both eye teeth and 2 molars on top. And more are coming in! Poor baby!
Libby loves the camera. She's really got the "say cheese" thing down and she will give you a great big smile if you ask for one. Libby remains in the 80th percentile on height and in the 25th percentile on weight.
Libby whips out her "pretend phone" every chance she gets. She puts her hand up to her ear and says, "hello, oh, yeah, bye-bye" and then she hands me her pretend phone and I have to talk to her hand. Adorable! Never want to forget that.
During the month of May we went to the beach (see previous entry) and then Sea World. We've also gone to the pool a lot and had several play dates. Papa Boots had to go into surgery because of a previous mild heart attack and some continuing chest pain. One of his arteries was 99% blocked so the doctor had to put a stent (spelling?) in. He is well now, but he gave us all a good scare! Thank you Lord for preserving his life!
Tomorrow we start some heavy traveling for work. Pray with us that Libby travels well this summer and adjusts to changing schedules and strange rooms. We have a nanny joining us for 4 of our 5 camps. Hallelujah!! Pray that Libby bonds with Kristie (the nanny) with ease and joy! And pray for Kristie's endurance - haha!
Tara - I understand your sadness and frustration concerning the long wait to your Chinese baby. There's nothing that can ease that pain. But know that God knows which baby is yours and He will lead you to her if you simply trust Him. When you meet her, the wait will melt away and your joy will be complete! Love you girl! Hang in there!
Blessings,
Cindy
