Libby is ONE!! The last couple of weeks have been so spectacular! Libby started walking a few weeks ago and is now walking everywhere. She's fast and getting more balanced every day. Libby's top two front teeth are also coming in. She is changing so much everyday.
Libby had her first professional pictures taken. She wore a cute pink outfit with a big pink bow. The background is all white and she posed so beautifully. It was hard to choose my favorite ones. I love this girl!!! What a beauty!
On Friday Nov. 17 we headed to Longview, TX to spend a week with Billy's family. The next day, Nov. 18, Grammy and Aunt Wendy and Miss Karen threw a big shower/first birthday party for Libby. They decorated the room with Chinese decor, they all wore Chinese silk tops, they had delicious cake and punch and they even had thank you notes made to match the decor for me to use (Karen, you are so talented!). Everyone who came was so loving and generous. Libby received lots of new outfits, teddy bears, diapers, and books. Grammy and Papa Boots bought Libby her first swing set among several other things. Cousin Brooke gave Libby a sweet, green tutu. Aunt Wendy and Uncle Robbie gave her the party and an adorable jean pants and jean jacket outfit.
Libby wore a red and gold Chinese dress. She looked like such a doll. She helped unwrap all the gifts and loved eating her first bite of cake - but she was cautious about it and very neat. We actually had to put icing on our fingers and feed it to her. She didn't know what to do! So cute! We are incredibly grateful to Wendy, Karen and Winky for all the work they did to make Libby's first birthday so special. And it was SPECIAL!!!
So that's how the festivities of the Thanksgiving week began. Next was Billy's 40th birthday party which was so meaningful. Then we exchanged Christmas gifts and then we had a Thanksgiving Feast with all the Foote/Stark/Tompkins family. We had one precious event after another and it was so much fun. Libby really bonded with her cousin Brooke. Brooke officially calls her "Bibby". Libby follows Brooke everywhere. So adorable.
Grammy watched Libby for us one of the days and Libby really bonded with her as well. Libby is really adjusted in every way. We have no worries about that anymore. Hooray!
We have a few weeks off until Christmas and we're enjoying it. Then we're off to SC for Christmas with my (Cindy) family. I am loving the holidays as a mother. I know Libby is too young to really get it, but I still love showering her with love and gifts and teaching her about the excitement of this special season. Thank you Jesus for loving us first - when we were yet sinners. Being a mom is teaching me so much about Your Love.
December is sure to bring about more fun and exciting news. So keep checking back!
Happy Holidays!
