An October Update
Part 1
It's October 11 and all is well in the Foote household. Libby is adjusting very well. Her nap times are the only major challenge right now, but we've talked to other families who adopted their babies during our trip and almost all of them are having the same issue. We've been adviced that the nap challenge may last several months.
The only other minor adjustment issue is that Libby definately doesn't know what to think about other people holding her for any significant amount of time. The one day I allowed two other women to hold her for some time Libby had a hard time giving me eye contact for the rest of the day. This is understandable given all she's been through.
The positives - There are so many!!! She is learning baby sign language and can already do "all done". She's working on "bye bye". She's cruising along the sides of furniture and toys. She's developed a really cute, short laugh. She's still a very happy baby and she is such a joy and delight to us.
This weekend will be our first ministry trip with baby in tow. We are looking forward to figuring out how it all works. The exciting thing about this trip is that Cindy's family is driving up to meet Libby for the first time. We are soooooooooooo excited!!!
There will be more pictures after this first trip, but for now - here are some cute ones!
